Chef Carla Snyder believes that there is no more valuable class for the aspiring cook than knife skills. If you can use a knife more efficiently, you can cut vegetables and meats on the fly, allowing you to cook more quickly, which means you get dinner on the table faster. In addition, using a knife in the correct way will make the chore of cutting food more enjoyable, your food will look more professional, and it will actually taste better (really!). Learn what knives you need, how to keep them sharp, how to hold them, cut and chop a ton of vegetables and fruits, and make Classic Minestrone, Roasted Winter Vegetable Salad with Simple Shallot Vinaigrette, and Easy Apple Tart.
